SUMMARY:Gauging Support for LGBTQIA+ Students @ Forum on Education Abroad Conference
DESCRIPTION:This poster session highlights results from a study investigating how organizations support LGBTQIA+ students in study abroad. Organizations (n = 64) identify their strategies to support LGBTQIA+ student throughout the study abroad student journey: marketing\, pre-departure\, advising\, in country support\, and re-entry. Key findings show no demographic data capture\, reactive advising strategies\, and collaboration with internal and external partners to support LGBTQIA+ students in study abroad. \nLocation: Exhibit Hall\, Lower Concourse level \n\nLearning Objectives: \n\nUnderstand the current institutional and organizational landscape for supporting LGBTQIA+ students in education abroad.\nRe-examine internal and external policies that encourage or limit support for LGBTQIA+ students in education abroad.\nDevise protocols for LGBTQIA+ student support within study abroad offices.
