Rainbow Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving LGBTQ student who aims to participate in a high-quality, rigorous education abroad program. Applicants must meet general Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) scholarship eligibility requirements & preferences. Students interested in being considered for this annual scholarship should indicate this through their application forms.

Funding Amount: up to $10,000

Number of Scholarships Awarded: up to 15

Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled as undergraduates in US universities/colleges who plan to study abroad for at least four weeks between May 2017 and May 2018. Fund for Education Abroad awards are intended to support students planning to participate in high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs in the 2017-2018 academic year or summer 2017. The financial support for these scholarships is provided by generous donors, who are committed to increasing study abroad opportunities for dedicated American students.

Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements listed above in addition to any requirements specific to the dedicated scholarship.

This scholarship is made possible by the generous support of a group of international education professionals who are committed to advocating on behalf of LGBTQI students. These professionals counsel international and study abroad LGBTQI students and support their LGBTQI colleagues in the field. Many of these educators have come together through groups created with the support of NAFSA and the Forum for Education Abroad.
