Presenters will share how to navigate LGBTQ advising situations during pre-departure, while abroad, and upon reentry. The session will cover effective strategies to promote advisers allies, explore effective programming, and offer tips on how to encourage dialogue with students on topics of sexuality and gender identify.

Poster Fair: Increasing Diversity Outreach and Support in International Education
Room: Colorado Convention Center, Hall A, Poster Fair Area
Posters highlight innovative programs, support services, and resources to assist colleges and universities interested in expanding participation and opportunities in international education among underrepresented and nontraditional populations, focusing on sexual orientation, disability, race and ethnicity, socioeconomic status, funding opportunities, and academic disciplines such as science and engineering.
